About

Established in 2010, On The Record aims to deliver a combination of traditional news reporting with engaging print and multimedia content to UniSA students and the wider South Australian community.

On The Record is an online publication wholly run by the University of South Australia’s journalism students, focusing on topics and issues that appeal to and impact students and the wider community.

Each year, On The Record’s editorial team work to grow the publication using their fresh perspectives and academic specialisations.

Publication in On The Record furthers the professional development of our student journalists and allows for unique student voices to be heard to inform and interest readers.

Our 2022 editorial team:

Sophie Gauvin – Editor

I am in my final year of a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) & Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing. In the wake of 2020, and the events that have followed, I have developed a passion for making the news accessible to all audiences, regardless of education or interests. When I grow up, I want to remain authentic and driven.

Anisha Pillarisetty – Deputy Editor

I am in my final year of a Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing and Literature, Art and Design) & Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing. I’m interested in critical, self-reflexive journalism that is grounded in contemporary and historical contexts, grassroots organising, and care. I am also interested in communicating through intersecting creative fields. When I grow up, I want to continue to develop my practice in solidarity with First Nations movements for justice across the world.

Sarah Herrmann – Chief Sub-Editor

I am in my third year of a Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing & Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing and Literature). My curiosity is boundless, but I am particularly interested in writing arts & entertainment, social justice, and profile pieces. When I grow up, I would like to be at peace and still in love with language and creativity.

Dani Bozoski – Political Editor

I am in my third year of a Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing & Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing and Literature). I tend to favour political journalism and when I grow up, I would love to write about federal and foreign affairs.

Cassie Taylor – Broadcast Editor

I am in my fourth year of a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) & Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing. I’m super interested in investigative journalism, especially through radio. When I grow up, I want to be a radio journalist or podcaster.

Sophie Holder – Social Media Editor

I am in my final year of a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) & Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing. I am interested in many areas of journalism; however, I especially enjoy politics and law, and sports journalism. When I grow up, I want to be a journalist who helps people to better understand the world around them.

Crissalen Jumamoy – Multimedia Editor

I am in my final year a Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing & Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing and Literature). Though my interests have broadened since starting the course, my number-one passion has always been pop culture and entertainment news, especially in music. When I grow up, I want to be working in broadcast journalism.
